2011 FINALIST – HSBC INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AWARD

At the inaugural Gala Celebration for the 2011 HSBC International Business Awards, held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, SPF Precut Lumber was recognized for its widespread international business success as a finalist in the “Leadership in International Trade – Asia-Pacific” award category. Among the twelve finalists in four different categories (three finalists per category), SPF Precut Lumber was the only forestry-sector firm in a wide range of businesses and industries. The awards gained national media coverage in The Globe & Mail, Vancouver Sun, Business without Borders, and other publications.

The HSBC International Business Awards, created in conjunction with Business without Borders, celebrates the very best of Canadian companies doing business internationally. The program recognizes both publicly-traded and private companies doing business in the fast growing regions of Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Companies were selected by a panel of expert judges based on their overall achievements in global growth, and the merits of their international business strategies.

The Gala Celebration was hosted by HSBC Bank of Canada President and CEO, Lindsay Gordon, and innovative merchant banker and co-founder of FirstEnergy Capital Corp., W. Brett Wilson.
